La Petite Ascension Ring
La Petite Ascension Ring is a lovely Memento Mori piece that is a smaller version of the retired Ascension Ring. Cast in sterling silver and blackened to accentuate it’s relief, it highlights a 9mm trillion cut piece of labradorite in a rose cut finish.
During the 16th and 17th centuries, Memento Mori jewelry was worn as daily adornment by the more learned and affluent of the day. This jewelry was not a symbol of mourning but instead showed the wearer to be a deep thinker, openly acknowledging the fact that death comes to all. It’s presence encouraged one to live life to the fullest as it reminded the wearer that they too, must eventually die.
Labradorite is a highly mystical stone and is one of the most powerful protectors of the mineral kingdom. It safeguards against negativity and shields the aura while strengthening natural energies from within. It’s great for enhancing willpower and feelings of inner worth, thus relieving anxiety. Labradorite heightens intuition and psychic abilities, and for those who chose to explore alternative levels of consciousness, it provides safe exploration. This jewelry piece uses a natural stone that has been prospected, cut, and polished by hand. That being said, please expect your stone to be unique and have organic qualities. This includes uneven coloration, minor surface pocking, striations, and/or inclusions during formation of the stone. These characteristics are naturally occurring and are still considered quality grade for jewelry. Only stones that meet Dichotomie’s standards will be used for your jewelry piece.
