All Circulus Pendant orders are FINAL and NON-REFUNDABLE. Once an order is placed, production will begin. There will be a 4-7 week lead time to finish each piece, based on production time and current workload. Please keep in mind that each Circulus Pendant is produced and finished by hand so lead time accounts for all stages of the process as well as a finishing quality that is up to Dichotomie’s standards.
Attune yourself to life’s cycles with The Circulus Pendant. Translating simply to ‘circle’ in Latin, this piece embodies the repetition of life’s rhythms within a timeless circle. The original form was inspired by classical ship figureheads - entities that were strategically placed on the front of a vessel for protection while navigating the sea. The nautical theme connects this piece to the element of water and the more hidden sides of our psyche: intuition, emotion and the unconscious.
The circle binds the unique parts of the design together into a hybrid: part land creature, part sea dweller; part animal, part human. All aspects coexist together to form an ecosystem through interconnectedness and harmony. True balance is achieved when no part is greater or more important than another. The figure’s pelvic bones are symbolic of death and rebirth, quite literally guiding us through the different cycles of life and consciousness as we evolve over time.
Each Circulus Pendant is cast in solid sterling silver and is debossed with the Dichotomie monogram for authenticity. Hangs from a 20” sterling silver wheat chain. Due to the complex nature of the design, please expect minor casting differences which will make your piece individual and unique.
